Three young ladies vying for Miss Glenwood City

This year there will be three candidates running for Miss Glenwood City. The girls have been preparing all summer and the coronation for the new queen will take place on September 6th at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.

Those vying to be the next Miss Glenwood City are Elizabeth Lawson, sponsored by Leakers Place; Lillian Fox, sponsored by Mike’s Auto Body and Aubrie Hillstead sponsored by Old Depot Designs.
The following are the bios that the girls wrote about themselves:

ELIZABETH LAWSON

Elizabeth Lawson
Hi, my name is Elizabeth Lawson and my sponsor is Leakers Place. I have a family of 6 which are Tracy (Mom), Christopher (Dad), my 3 sisters, Cortney, Isabella, Jasmine, and my one brother Christopher Jr.

I will graduate in 2027 from Glenwood City High School. I play sports like (softball, volleyball, and bowling). I also like music, so I am in band and choir in school. And in my free time I spend time with family, because every year we go on a family trip to Wisconsin Dells.

And the reason why I am excited to be Glenwood City Royalty is because my Grandma would have loved it and would be so proud.

LILLIAN FOX

Lillian Fox
Hello, my name is Lillian Fox, I’m a 16-year-old jackie of all trades. I have a brother and a sister, and I am the third and youngest child of my parents, Tiffany and Isaac Fox.

My sponsor is Glenwood City’s local towing and vehicle repair company, Mike’s Auto Body. The past two summers, I have been working a full-time custodial job at Glenwood City School District, but in my free time, I engross myself in my many interests. One of my favorite things is music, I am very passionate about it, and am always jamming to it, specifically punk rock and 90s alternative.

I’m an avid camper and outdoor enthusiast. When I’m not working, I’m with my Dad camping, offroading, and volunteering with the not-for-profit Minnesota GO-4 Wheelers. I also enjoy drawing and painting, and have been building this skill since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

My spare time is always occupied by the amazing and fun people and hobbies that I find so much happiness in, and I’m so grateful. I love learning new skills and meeting new people, and I’m very excited for what the future has in store for me.

AUBRIE HILLSTEAD

Aubrie Hillstead
Hey! I’m Aubrie Hillstead, and I’m 16 years old. I have a decently sized family with there being six of us: my mom, Amanda Hillstead, my dad, Jeremiah Hillstead, and my three siblings.

I’m lucky to be sponsored by Old Depot Designs, and his support means a lot to me.

I’m really passionate about anything creative, especially dance, art, and music. Whether I’m painting, choreographing something fun, or playing in our high school band, I love finding new ways to express myself. Being involved in the arts has helped me grow in so many ways. Dance gives me energy and confidence, art helps me clear my mind, and band has taught me how amazing it feels to be part of a team. These things make me feel the most like myself, and I’m excited to keep doing what I love while learning along the way.
