TYLER DORMANEN
Boyceville senior Tyler Dormanen and Glenwood City junior Ian Radintz will share this year’s top conference wrestling honor.
The duo, both two-time state place winners, were recently named as the 2021-22 Dunn-St. Croix Conference’s Co-Wrestlers of the Year.
Dormanen became the seventh Boyceville wrestler to earn the designation joining fellow Bulldogs’ Trett Joles (a two-time winner, 2019-20 and 2020-21), Brock Schlough (2018-19), Garrett Joles (2017-18), James Palmer (2016-17), Austin Wolfe (2014-15), and Micha Johnson (2013-14). Spring Valley/Elmwood’s Ethan Hofacker was the 2015-16 honoree.
Meanwhile, Radintz became the first Glenwood City grappler to receive the honor in its nine-year history.
After finishing third in Division 3’s 170-pound weight class at last year’s state tournament, Dormanen moved up a spot and finished as the state runner-up in the same weight class last month in the Kohl Center.

IAN RADINTZ
“Tyler was very deserving of this honor,” said his head coach Jamie Olson. “When you show up every day to work hard, be coachable, and have a great attitude good things will happen. This is what Tyler did every day for four years.”
“He also added in countless hours in the weight room and started to eat really clean. You put all this together and you set yourself up for success. He will be greatly missed!” added Olson.
Dormanen finished his final season with a 45-5 record and the silver medal. In his four years of high school wrestling, Tyler compiled a 118-32 mark. He registered 141 takedowns, had 40 escapes, 66 reversals and 344 near falls.
“The La Crosse Eagles are getting a good one here!” said Olson of Dormanen who will continue his education and wrestling career at UW-La Crosse.
Like his co-honoree, Glenwood City’s Ian Radintz secured his second straight state medal this past February. Radintz, who finished as the state runner-up at 106 pounds a year ago, took home the bronze medal at 113 pounds in Division 3 at the 2022 WIAA Individual State Wrestling Championships held February 24-26 in Madison.
After a 40-2 campaign this past season in which he recorded 24 falls a trio of technical falls ad three major decisions, Radintz’ career wrestling record improved to 87-11.
Radintz was also a Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Freestyle and Greco State Champion in 2021.
“Ian is a relentless worker. He is committed to his development year round training at Crass, weight training and attending high level tournaments,” said Glenwood City head coach Shane Strong.
“Ian is also an academic all-state wrestler. He holds himself to a high standard academically, which demonstrates his level of work ethic on and off the mat,” Strong added.
With one year left, Radintz is looking to reach even greater heights.
