SNOWBALL FIGHT — Residnets at Glenhaven enjoyed a snowball fight this past week. The best part was not having to go outside.
Glenhaven News
December 11-17th, 2021
Well folks, what a weird weather week it has been! First, we had the snowstorm that dumped many inches of snow for mid-December, then unprecedented tornado and severe storm warnings. On top of all that, we had record warmth and wind that created extremely foggy conditions and then more snow. If you thought you were confused by it all, our residents certainly were.
We have one week until Christmas. The cards, packages and gifts keep coming in and the residents are excited by all the attention. Keep it up!
Glenhaven community has gained two, beautiful ladies this week. Welcome, friends!
We’ve been playing some “reindeer games” to stay merry. On Monday, it was Sledding Penguins. The residents had fun sliding penguin chips down the plinko board, hoping to get the highest score. And, it actually worked out that everyone, at one point, was the winner. Hurray!
Tuesday, Holy Cross did a church service for our residents. We have many parishioners of Holy Cross here and it is always wonderful to host them.
Wednesday: hair, nails and BINGO. Barb Standaert helped with bingo. I know everyone, residents and staff, were super excited to see you. You are always welcome.
Thursday afternoon, we had a planned musical guest, but because of the weather it had to be postponed. I went to a backup plan and wanted to play a recorded CD of the Boyceville HS Choir singing Christmas carols, but there were technical difficulties. My last resort was to sing for the residents, but no one wanted that and I certainly do not blame them. Instead, it was hot chocolate and cookies with friends.
We ended the week with a snowball fight. Okay, not real snowballs. We bought plushy, soft snowballs just for the occasion. What a blast! Everyone was laughing and getting exercise at the same time. To finish out our Friday afternoon, we made popcorn and watched “White Christmas.”
Coming up this week, our Resident Christmas BINGO party on Wednesday. Secret Santa gifts should be brought to Ashley, our lovely administrative assistant, or to me. We am still hoping for clothing donations for our New Year’s Eve Champagne Dinner.
Have a blessed week.

Activity Director
