Ren in the Glen 2021 set for July 31 – August 1

GLENWOOD CITY – Ren in the Glen, the Medieval Fantasy Faire in the town of Glenwood, is back for its ninth season July 31st and August 1st with a full lineup of music, dance, food and drink, merchants, and activities for kids and adults of all ages.

Located in a lush grassy glen, the fair creates a fantasy medieval village where patrons are invited to indulge in high-spirited festivities with two full days of feasting, shopping, entertainment and hands-on activities. Kids can go on a quest and be knighted by the King and Queen, and even Fight the Knight, where they can do combat with an actual knight in full armor.

For the adults there’s the intimate Lazy Oak Tavern with music and comedy acts all day long and a large selection of local craft beers, wine and mead to enjoy. The food court offers treats, meals, soft drinks, coffee, tea and candies.

All entertainment at Ren in the Glen is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. This year’s lineup includes 26 different acts on four stages as well as wandering actors, dancers and musicians. The performers include musical groups, dancers, storytellers, a sword swallower-fire eater, comedy acrobats, jugglers, swordfighters and magicians, and even a Renaissance hypnotist show. You can meet with fairies or have an audience at the Royal Court while you dodge roving dancers, or play chess on a giant chessboard.

Over fifty vendors will be on hand offering a breathtaking array of unique wares, most of them handmade: fanciful clothing, pottery, crystals, perfumes, soaps, sculpture, wood carvings, fortune-telling, costumes, magic potions, masks, hats, artwork, furniture, musical instruments, medieval weapons and longbows, blacksmith creations, henna designs, and jewelry of all kinds including silver, crystal, copper, wands, necklaces, talismans, hair accessories, ornaments, and many others.

Ren in the Glen is located just northeast of Glenwood City at 1442 Dunn St. Croix Road. It’s open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 31st, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 1st.

Tickets are $12 at the gate or $10 in advance (with a quantity discount available), and kids 12 and under get in free. Parking is free and is located right outside the front gate.
