HUDSON – The St. Croix County Board of Supervisors held its regular monthly meeting June 1, and voted down a resolution to change zoning in the town of Kinnickinnic. Town residents Steven Fochs and Garth Mueller spoke during Public Comments to ask the Board to ensure the proposed rezone was the best use of the land.
After discussion regarding the resolution, the Board moved on to presentations and recognition Susan Capreilli was recognized for taking over as the CJCC Director, a position now known as director of justice services; she starts in the position June 21.
Bob Rohret of Public Health then reported on progress toward reopening the Kitty Rhodes Memory Care Unit to public visitors. He also talked about future goals for mental and behavioral health care in the county.
County Administrator Ken Witt presented a short list of potential projects identified by department heads as projects for which the County’s “American Rescue Plan” funds could be used. An unidentified supervisor asked Witt for the projects on the list to be explained in layman’s terms so each project could be clearly understood.
Board Chair Dave Ostness closed the meeting after Rohret’s report.
The next meeting will be held July 6 at 5 p.m.
