Monday started out with a robust set of exercises. They really put us through the paces. You’d think we were in boot camp.
Tuesday we played our weekly game of volleyball. Some people take it seriously. Others, not so much.
Wednesday we had our trivia hour. The quiz was on beer so we’ll see how you do.
We learned that Carlsberg is the brewer largely credited with inventing the strain of yeast used in many of today’s lagers.
If you’ve ever heard of Victory it is not a type of nap. Non-alcoholic beers typically contain as much alcohol as a banana. A typical pint of 5% lager contains 215 calories. What is the key ingredient of the beer Birenia Calbrona? Yeast from a hornet’s stomach. I’ll pass. Which mainstream lager brand tried to relaunch last year as a craft beer? Hofmeister. The beer can was introduced in the year 1935. I wonder what they used before that?! The world’s largest brewer is Anheuser Busch. The world’s largest beer brand is Snow. Never heard of it. Which beer brand’s tagline is “Reassuringly Expensive?” Stella Artois. And lastly what is the oldest beer brand still being produced today? Weihenstephan.
