Another wonderful weekend of football games. A couple of them were cliff hangers and I think I came out $.25 ahead. It’s pretty high stakes around here.
Monday we raced to exercises (not) and spent a few minutes flexing our muscles. Pretty impressive sight. As you may or may not know, whenever we leave the premises for any reason, we are quarantined to our rooms for 14 days. This means at any given time some of us are spending time in our rooms. So we’re used to not seeing certain tenants out for periods of time.
On Wednesday we exercised again and had trivia in the afternoon followed by treats.
The trivia this week was another mixed bag of things. We learned it has been scientifically proven that women can differentiate more colors than men, due to their genes. How can that be-men wear jeans too. The largest spiders in the world, tarantulas, can live almost two years without eating any food. I guess frogs don’t have to drink water, because they absorb it through their skin.
On another subject if you are afraid of worms. South Africa is the last place you want to travel. There they can reach a length of 22 feet. I think I’ll dig my worms in good old Wisconsin thank you.
Sometimes I think I overdo it, but gorillas can actively eat 40 pounds of food daily. There is one animal that can change its gender. What do you think it is? It’s the oyster.
I always thought the lion was King, but actually the lioness does 90% of the hunting, so in terms of surviving, the lioness has a more important role than the lion does. And that was the last trivia question.
On Thursday Carol came down from Glenhaven to help us make gnomes and tree ornaments. We all had different looking gnomes but one resident made one that looked like Santa Claus. She was really proud of it.
Friday the Baking Club made pumpkin bread and was it good. In the afternoon we played bingo with a $3.00 prize for coverall.
The Christmas trees are decorated and Christmas objects are placed all around. It really looks festive. This year we each have a bag on our door and everyday until Christmas we get a new treat in it. It’s something to look forward to.
And now I’m looking forward to supper so must leave you. I hope you’re enjoying the holiday season!
