Way to go Packers if you’re a Packer fan! Equally so, if you are a Vikings fan. Football is a big deal in Havenwood and we look forward to it every week.
Monday we had exercising in the morning and some of us played scrabble in the afternoon.
Visitors could be seen on the deck visiting their loved ones through the windows. It works pretty well.
Tuesday was a “pooty poot” day with everyone pretty much doing their own thing.
Wednesday was another story. We started out with flu shots (ouch) for some of us. Then we went to exercise class.
In the afternoon we had our special trivia hour. This week’s topic was the funniest fads of all time. In the late 50s it was the hula hoop. That fad originated in Australia where kids would use bamboo hoops.
Swallowing as many gold fish as possible was popular with the college kids. The good old days?
Also in the 50s stuffing as many people in a phone booth was a fad (what is a phone booth?)
Girls, remember the beehive hair do? What were we thinking? That was in the 60s.
In the 70s disco dancing took over in the night clubs.
The Rubik’s cube was a product of the 80s. I could never do it. The 90s brought us the famous Beanie Babies. I was an avid collector myself and couldn’t wait to get the “latest” one, waiting in line for hours. I did that?
In the 2000s hundreds of people (communicating by mobile phone) started showing up in public places to do funny things such as dancing or having a pillow fight. It was called a flash mob. I missed that one.
That hour brought back memories for a lot of us and we enjoyed the session.
Thursday a group of us decorated orange and white pumpkins, donated by B.F. Feeds Store in Glenwood City.
Everybody did a super job and we created many looks. Now they stand proudly by our doors. Friday was our Baking Club and doorway bingo.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
