We started the week out with exercises in resident rooms. Monday was also National French Fry Day, so we had burgers and fries for lunch-always a hit with the residents. We spent some time outside, but it was pretty warm to stay out too long. Our vegetable garden is slowly getting eaten by the deer, so don’t know how much we’re going to get out of that this year!
Church services on TV were enjoyed on Tuesday morning. Throughout the day we held Resident Council by going to individual rooms and asking if there were any concerns. The question of when their families will get to visit is always brought up. We are waiting for further rules from the state as to when that is going to happen. Until then we encourage families to come and sit outside of their window or the three season porch window, and visit with them over their phone, or do a virtual visit using the Ipad.
We had our in-house beauty shop on Wednesday morning, and played Bingo in the afternoon, which was followed by cookies and coffee.
Wednesday was also Teresa Miller’s birthday. We celebrated with birthday cake and ice cream, which was brought in by Teresa’s family. Thank you for the treat! Happy Birthday, Teresa!
Exercises and care conferences were the agenda for Thursday morning, and one of the residents suggested trivia for the afternoon, so we did garden trivia, asking how many fruits, vegetables and flowers they could name that started with the letters of the alphabet. We also had a fun in the sun game, where they had to figure out words with the word “sun” in them, from the clues. We played this in D household on Thursday, and C on Friday. Residents did great!
Friday was popcorn day, and we had music playing in the courtyard in the afternoon. Snacks were served after our trivia game. Friday is also our day to water the indoor plants and clean the aviary.
Have a good week, and everyone stay healthy!
