Glenhaven News
April 18-24
Residents enjoyed movies and church on TV over the weekend. On Monday we went around and asked if they got to see their church or not, and if not, put it on Youtube for them. We also printed off some of the church bulletins and handed them out. We had hopes of going outside on Monday, but was just too cold. The snack cart went around each day this week with treats.
Tuesday and Wednesday morning we worked on doing our in house beauty shop-curling hair and doing nails. We did a mini-resident council meeting, as we are unable to get together.
Wednesday was spent doing some more cleanup of the courtyards. Some residents did venture outside for some fresh air. The wind continues to be chilly, however. We just have to search for the right spot where the sun hits us and not the wind!
Thursday was care conference day, which, like everything else, is done over the phone these days. We also had orientation for some new employees, a couple of which I’m sure you’ll all recognize once you’re able to visit. Again, we would be happy to use the Ipad to do face to face conversations between yourselves and your family members. Just give us a call. Everyone is missing that family contact.
Friday was popcorn day, always a hit with the residents. We also enjoyed chocolate malts in honor of Willard Tronrud’s birthday out in the courtyard in the afternoon. Several residents came out and enjoyed some fresh air, with masks and social distancing, of course. The sun was warm, but again the breeze is still on the cool side. Summer will be here soon. Happy Birthday, Willard!!!
We have posters hanging up in our building in support of the graduating class of 2020. Our best wishes go out to all of you, and hope you will sooner or later get to have a graduation ceremony. We’re very proud of your accomplishments and wish you all the best in whatever the future holds for you. Hang in there!!!
Everyone keep safe and healthy.
