Glenhaven News
November 2-8
Movies were enjoyed on Saturday afternoon. Our library keeps us supplied with a great variety for the residents to enjoy.
Catholic communion was on Sunday morning.
The Pastor from Glen Hills Parish was here on Monday for services and also did a communion service with the residents. In the afternoon, the baking club was busy making a dessert, which they enjoyed the next day for lunch. It was a “use what’s in the cupboard”, as I call it, dessert. It tasted great! We also made some apple pie filling for use at the bake sale.
Pastor Brad and Ginnie were here on Tuesday morning for services, and that was immediately followed by our November Resident Council meeting. We discussed any problems anyone may be having, and also planned what they wanted for Thanksgiving dinner. There were no surprises, as they requested the traditional meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, coleslaw, and pumpkin pie for dessert. Sounds good to me!
Beauty shop was on Wednesday morning, and continued on Thursday. Bingo on Wednesday afternoon was hosted by the activity department, with the help of two of our auxiliary ladies, Linda and Barbe. The auxiliary ladies were also busy making turnovers for the bake sale on Friday.
The Auxiliary was back again bright and early on Thursday to frost turnovers, and another crew made lefsa. Thanks, ladies, for all your work!
The Little Acorns were also up to visit on Thursday, and tried out our new bean bag game with the residents. It went pretty well, after Tricia managed to get it together.
Friday there was Catholic Mass with Father John, and the Annual Auxiliary Bake Sale. A nice crowd gathered for coffee and treats, and took a lot of goodies home with them. The sale went well, with only a few items left by noon. Thanks to all who attended and enjoyed visiting with old friends and neighbors.
