Residents enjoyed movies from the library on Saturday.
Sunday was the Rustic Lore parade, and three of our residents, Valentine Queen Gladys Best, King Orville Wittmer, and past Grand Marshal Olga Waters were riders on the float, as well as Tricia Quinn. Our float was also represented by the Little Acorns daycare. Teachers Lyn, Michelle and Abby took part, and our driver was Gary Standaert. Some residents went to the parade with family members, and several watched it from Glenhaven. The Glenhaven Auxiliary also hosted a pie and ice cream social before, during and after the parade, which did very well. It was a good day in spite of the rain!
On Monday morning, Pastor Samuel of the Glen Hills Methodist was here for services, assisted by Dick Tewes. The afternoon was spent cleaning beets from our garden, which were made into beet pickles for the residents to enjoy.
Holy Cross was here on Tuesday for church, Wednesday for Bible study, and also for Bingo. They had a full schedule this week. Thanks to Pastor Jonathan and to his helpers at services, Becky, Peg and Carol, and also to the Bingo ladies Becky, Linda K., Betsy, Peg, Carol, and Linda H. And to those who came to Bible Study, the residents and tenants are loving it!
Tuesday evening was a hoot, with C,T, Paula and the Heuts. They played a lot of old favorites, including one of my favorites “The Auctioneer” song. At least I think that’s what it’s called. It sounded great! They will be back again next month, on the second Tuesday.
Little Acorns visited on Thursday and played games with the residents.
Friday was popcorn day, and table games in the afternoon.
