Glenhaven – Jack and Maxine Timm celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Glenhaven News August 17-29
We had a musical week, starting with Rudy Rudesill on Saturday. We also had the Dunn Bellringers, who are a group of residents from the Dunn County nursing home, here to play the bells for us on Monday, and the Dunn Dulcimers the next day. No lack of talent in our midst.
Pastor Dahm from Forest Immanuel was here Tuesday morning for services.
The Mounce family was kind enough to volunteer to assist the residents with Bingo on Wednesday, as the activity director, (that’s me), took the week off. Thank goodness for volunteers, and we have some very good ones here at Glenhaven.
The staff at Little Acorns helped the kids play bowling with the residents on Thursday.
Catholic communion was held on Sunday morning, and in the afternoon, Grace Baptist was here for services.
This week the residents had baking club on Monday, and made a new apple dessert for the monthly birthday party, which was held on Tuesday with Jane and Friends. They sang from their romance collection of songs, which was very fitting, as Jack and Maxine Timm celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on that same day. Congratulations, Jack and Max! They also sang “Happy Birthday” to seven residents with August birthdays: Sannlo Pribble, Helen Krizan, Richard Halvorson, Audrey Smith, Bill Hoffman, Clarence Fleming, and Delaney Mattison. Belated Happy Birthday to you all!
Pastor Shannon and Irene Schmidt from the Boyceville Methodist Church were here on Tuesday morning for services.
Bobbie Berends and Diane Dettman helped the activity department with Bingo on Wednesday. St. John’s supplied the prizes.
We welcome Shelly to the activity department. She started on Thursday, and will be helping out on a part time basis. After helping the kids with balloon volleyball, she got to try her talents at manicures.
