Glenhaven News July 20-26
Rudy Rudesill was here to sing and play for the residents on Saturday afternoon.
Everything was picked up from the fair on Sunday, so on Monday we had a showing of all the ribbons that were collected last week. It was a good fair for our residents and tenants, that is for sure. We had ribbons in every color of the rainbow. We had three champion ribbons-Bev Thompson for her banana bread (which was delicious), Julie Brunkhorst for her crocheting of a baby doll outfit, which was darling, and Lois Kilde for a unique wood carving stamped picture. Great job, everybody!
Tuesday morning church was with Pastor Shannon from Boyceville Methodist, and Irene Schmidt playing the piano. We spent the afternoon doing manicures.
The beauty shop was in full swing on Wednesday morning, and in the afternoon Bingo was hosted by the activity department with the help of Dennis Berends and Hally Dopkins. We sang Happy Birthday to Don Hahn after Bingo, and he treated us to ice cream for his birthday. We appreciate Don for the treat, and Cindy who helped serve.
The Little Acorns were up to visit with the residents on Thursday morning. A large group gathered outside on the patio to watch and play with the kids. In the afternoon residents enjoyed “Crafting with Laurie.” This week they made butterflies to hang in their windows. They turned out beautiful.
Friday was popcorn day, and residents went out and toured the gardens outside in the afternoon. Things are growing great with all the heat and moisture.
We appreciate all of our volunteers this week!
