Glenhaven News July 6 – 12
Jim Ehlers was here to entertain the residents on Saturday afternoon. Everyone enjoys his music!
The baking club was busy again this week making our fair entries. This week we made muffins. Only a couple of projects to finish before next Wednesday. Then maybe we’ll take a little break. It gets warm up here with the ovens going.
Pastor Dahm from Forest Immanual Lutheran was here for services on Tuesday morning. He and Pastor Jonathan swapped weeks this month. (The Pastors need some vacation time, too!)
A lively game of shuffleboard was played in the afternoon. Bev Thompson was our big winner. In the evening, C,T,& the Heuts were here to liven up the place. They sounded great, and played many requests from their audience.
Holy Cross hosted Bingo on Wednesday afternoon. Thanks to Bill, Mary Ann, Dorothy and Carson for assisting.
The Little Acorns made their weekly visit upstairs on Thursday morning and entertained the residents. In the afternoon, residents were first of all treated to a presentation by Mary Ellen Brue about monarch butterflies. Following the butterfly demonstration, they made rock creations to set outside or in their rooms. They turned out very cute.
Catholic Mass was celebrated with Father John on Friday morning. Popcorn was enjoyed on Friday as well. In the afternoon we spent some time outside. It was a little toasty, but there was a nice breeze. We also did some gardening while we were out there and watered all the plants. Ice cream treats were enjoyed before heading back inside.
Thanks to all our volunteers this week!
