Sadly, our Saturday music was cancelled, but the Menonite Singers on Sunday did a wonderful job, according to the residents. We also had church services on Sunday with Christ the King Church, and Catholic communion.
Members of St. Croix Hospice came on Veteran’s Day and visited all our veterans as well as the wives of vets, and gave them flags, flag pins, and a certificate of appreciation. “Thank You” St. Croix Hospice, and “Thank You” to all our veterans at Glenhaven, Havenwood, Grand Oaks, and our entire community for your service.
We started some Christmas baking on Monday, as the residents made Russian Tea Cakes, a request from Julie Brunkhorst. Hope they were up to her expectations. We have a whole list of things we want to get done before Christmas, so the baking ladies will be busy!
Pastor Jonathan from Holy Cross was here on Tuesday morning for services. He was accompanied by Marian, Peg and Becky. Hope I got everyone. The Holy Cross ladies were also here this week for Bingo. A big “Thank You” to Mary Ann, Linda, Dorothy and Geraldine.
C, T and the Heuts were here on Tuesday evening, and drew a large crowd, as always. Paula Standaert accompanied them on the piano. This is the first time in a while that she has played, but it sounded terrific. Good job, everyone!
Live to be Healthy with Steve was held on Tuesday and Thursday. The residents love their exercises.

Residents enjoyed movies from the library on Saturday.
The baking club made pizzelles this week, as part of our holiday baking. We had to sample some, of course! They were delicious. Next Monday we will have to make something good for our monthly birthday party.
The ladies from Holy Cross were here on Monday evening for their “Threads of God’s Love” knitting group. Three of our residents/tenants joined in the group. Everyone seems to be enjoying getting together and working together on this project.
Pastor Dahm from Forest Immanual Church was here for services on Tuesday morning, which was followed by Live to be Healthy exercises with Steve.
Wednesday afternoon Bingo was hosted by the activity department, with the help of Dave, Savannah, and Linda – we appreciate them for helping out!
Thanksgiving Day brought a lot of visitors and guests for dinner with their loved ones. We had about 40 guests that day for dinner. From all reports, the food was great. Hope everyone got their tummies full and had room for pie!
Residents enjoyed popcorn on Friday morning, and in the afternoon we played Thanksgiving Trivia. It was challenging, especially the historical questions. I’m sure we all knew the answers when we were in grade school, it’s just remembering them that’s the trick!
