SARAH KAPSNER
Boyceville High School senior class member, Sarah Kapsner, was selected as the Menomonie Rotary Club Youth Volunteer Service Award winner. Sarah is the daughter of Molly and Chris Kapsner of Boyceville. Sarah was recognized by the Rotary Club for her volunteer service and commitment to her community. Karlene Berry, Counselor at Boyceville High School, introduced Sarah’s list of accomplishments to the Rotary Club during an awards banquet held in November.
Sarah’s tremendous focus on community and service has been evident throughout her high school career. Her active leadership can be seen across numerous school clubs and organizations. Sarah has focused on academic competitions such as Science Olympiad, Academic Decathlon and Visual Arts Classics. In Science Olympiad Sarah has played the role not only of a competitor at the State and National level but she also helps coordinate events such as Ecology, Chemistry and Anatomy at tournaments. Academic Decathlon is a comprehensive test of History, Math, Science, English, Music and Art. Sarah has competed the past three years at the Regional level with Academic Decathlon. The Visual Arts Classic, an Art Competition, allowed Sarah to compete at a State level in Painting, Sewing and Drawing. Sarah has also supported a number of clubs at Boyceville High School. She is a member of the Spanish Club, Yearbook and the Drama Club. She gets involved as a volunteer or participant in any way she can to support the collective effort. Sarah took part in a full immersion Spanish Camp experience, she has been an integral part of plays and musicals (from a lead, to technology crew to choir), and works as an Editor for the BHS Yearbook. Outside of school Sarah enjoys spending time with her horse. She is a Pony Club member and mentor and she successfully competes with her horse in Eventing, which includes Dressage, Cross Country Jumping and Show Jumping.
Sarah has been a dedicated student, a supportive peer and a true asset to the Boyceville High School community. Congratulations to Sarah for being recognized as the Youth Volunteer Service Award winner for the Menomonie Rotary Club.
