Glenhaven-Havenwood Happenings – 10-17-2018

October 6-12

Residents enjoyed a movie and also played Yahtzee and Upwords over the weekend.

The baking club was busy on Monday making breads for the upcoming bake sale. We made cranberry bread and orange date bread this week.

Pastor Brad from Trinity Lutheran was here for services on Tuesday morning. He was assisted by Ginny, who played the organ. Church was followed by Live to be Healthy with Steve, who was also here on Thursday. In the afternoon residents played a game of Uno, and in the evening, C,T, and the Heuts once again drew a large crowd. They will be coming in November and December also, then taking a break in January and February.

The Little Acorns came up on Wednesday and played parachute with the residents. They always enjoy seeing the kids. In the afternoon, Holy Cross hosted Bingo.

Catholic Mass was celebrated on Friday morning with Father John. Friday was also popcorn day, and a game of Mexican Train was enjoyed in the afternoon. Mary and Bev each one a game. Good Job, Ladies!

Upcoming Highlights: 15- Threads of God’s Love knitting group in Glenhaven lobby; 16-Forest Immanuel Church; 17-JAM kids from Holy Cross; 18th-OCTBERFEST-EVERYONE IS WELCOME; 20-Rich Schroeder music; 23-Boyceville Methodist Church; 24-Bingo with the Activity Dept.; 28-Izzy Draxler music and Grace Baptist Church; 29-Girl Scouts bringing Halloween Treats; 30-Jane and Friends; 31-Halloween Bingo with St. John’s and Trick or Treaters welcome from 4-5:30 in all buildings, no live animals allowed. All month we will be doing some baking and crafting in preparation for the Auxiliary Bake and Craft Sale, which is November 2nd from 9-4:30.
