Glenhaven-Havenwood Happenings – 10-3-2018

September 22-28

The weekend started off with some always enjoyable music from Jim Ehlers on Saturday afternoon. Sunday was Catholic communion in the morning, and in the afternoon Grace Baptist Church was here for services.

The baking club, along with a little help from Bob Miller, was busy on Monday making dessert for our monthly birthday party. They peeled apples and made apple crisp, which was topped off with ice cream and enjoyed by all at our Jane and Friends gathering on Tuesday afternoon. They drew a large crowd, as always, and we celebrated five birthdays in September-Art Burmester, Julie Brunkhorst, Ollie Knoebel, Ella Rassbach and Orville Wittmer. Happy Birthday to you all! We appreciate all the great music, Ladies.

Boyceville Methodist church with Pastor Shannon, who was accompanied by Irene Schmidt, was here for services on Tuesday morning. Church was followed by Live to Be Healthy with Steve, who also came on Thursday morning. We always have a large gathering of residents and tenants who love doing their exercises with Steve.

St. John’s hosted Bingo this week, and we had the Stack family helping us out. Thanks to June, Jennifer and Carol.

Friday was popcorn day as well as the Auxiliary’s annual Fall Luncheon, which was well attended. They also had a raffle, which we will announce the winners of at a later time. Many family members were here, and other friends of Glenhaven. We had a good variety of food to pick from, which was prepared by our auxiliary members, as well as some from the kitchen. Everything tasted delicious!

In the afternoon, several of the residents gathered to help clean the gigantic carrots grown in our Glenhaven garden. They will get to enjoy them this weekend.

We appreciate all our volunteers this week and to those who took part in the auxiliary’s luncheon and raffle – your support is much appreciated!
