The weekend was much more relaxing than the previous one. Steve Szydel started it off with some music that everyone seems to enjoy. Then on Sunday afternoon Forest Immanuel Lutheran Church was here to help out with bingo which the residents always look forward to. We appreciate everyone who came and was a part of the residents’ afternoon.
On Mondays the ladies always look forward to having their nails being spruced up. Later in the afternoon the baking club got together and worked hard on peeling and chopping apples, since it’s that time of year again. After the apples were peeled and chopped we bagged them up and put them in the freezer for a later day to make some delicious apple pies. We then finished the baking hour with some hot coffee and nice warm cookies.
Forest Immanuel Lutheran Church was here Tuesday morning for church service. After church was finished we jumped into the morning with exercises from Live to B Healthy. In the afternoon we had on the calendar to play some games but plans changed when someone donated some gorgeous flowers from their wedding over the past weekend. The resident gathered around a table and put bouquets together to set around the facility. They commented on how they smelt like spring and how they were not ready for the cold weather.
Wednesday morning the children from the daycare came upstairs and everyone participated in a fun game of bowling. There was lots of laughing, clapping, and cheering from everyone who attended this entertaining activity. Wednesday afternoon was the weekly bingo day that the majority attends, and we even had some help from a few wonderful volunteers.
Steve from Live to B Healthy arrived and started the morning off with a great workout. Then in the afternoon we had a social hour with coffee, malts, and cookies. On Friday morning fresh popcorn was made and residents, family, and staff enjoyed an early snack. Later in the afternoon we were hoping for warmer weather to go outside and enjoy some ice cream treats. Instead we got a group together and played a few rounds of Mexican Train Dominoes and had some coffee and treats to warm us up on this cold day.
