GLENWOOD CITY — Five young ladies will be competing for the 2018-19 title of Miss Glenwood City.
The candidates have had a busy summer preparing for this year’s Rustic Lore Celebration and queen’s coronation on Saturday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Glenwood City High School gymnasium.
This year’s candidates are Bethany Ullom, Nyah Anderson, Kaitlin Lee, Makiah Schutz, and Alexa Holden.

Hi, my name is Bethany Ullom. I am a junior from Glenwood City High School. I am in football cheerleading, basketball, and track. My parents are Chris and Melissa Ullom. I have two older siblings, Janessa and Marcus. I participate in Miss GC because I have always looked up to the royalty. The clubs I am in are DECA, FCCLA, National Honor Society. My hobbies are kayaking with family and friends, going on walks with friends, and helping my family. I’m excited for what the future holds. Sponsored by Ross’ Glenwood City Locker.
Hello, I’m Nyah Anderson! I’m a junior at GCHS. My parents are Craig and Julie Anderson, and I have 2 brothers, Elek & Ilan. I enjoy music, especially playing my guitar, baking, and clubs like DECA, DI, FCCLA, NHS, and Art Club. I love going on adventures outdoors with my friends and family, as well as cheering for the GC Hilltoppers. Hi, my name is Kaitlin Lee. I am 16 years old, and am a junior this year at Glenwood City High School. My parents are Chad and Sheila Lee. I have one older sister named Morgan. In school I participate in many extracurricular activities. I play basketball, softball, and am involved in multiple clubs. This year I am the FFA Student Advisor, FCCLA Vice President, and am in Student Council, National Honor Society, and Show Choir. I am also extremely active in many band events. I have been in the All Conference Honors Band, Eau Claire Honors Band, the Wisconsin State FFA Honors Band, and was even given the opportunity to tour Europe this summer with the Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music. In my free time, I enjoy being creative and finding ways to express myself. I write stories, and have just finished writing my first book. I also write my own songs. My Miss Glenwood City experience has been so much fun. I love getting to interact with the people in our community. Hello! I’m Makiah Schutz, I am a junior at Glenwood City High School. I’m the daughter of Matthew Schutz and Amy Schutz, and I have two siblings Riley and Kendall. I enjoy playing volleyball and basketball, plus doing clubs like FCCLA and Art Club. I love going on vacations and spending time with my family. Hi! I’m Alexa Holden, I am a junior at Glenwood City High School. My parents are Greg and Jen Holden, and I have one sister, Avery.
