Glenhaven News
May 26 – June1
Our entertainment on Saturday was Joe Anco and company.
Catholic Communion and church with Grace Baptist was held on Sunday.
Several residents were outside on Monday morning to watch the Memorial Day Services provided by the American Legion members. Thanks to all our Veterans for your service to us all.
Live to be Healthy started off our day on Tuesday, which was followed in the afternoon by Jane and Friends for our monthly birthday party. Jane brought some reinforcements along this month. They sounded great! Thanks to you all. We celebrated 7 birthdays this month. Happy Birthday to Claude, Doris, Goldine, Faye, Dorothy, Ruth and Erleen! We enjoyed ice cream sundaes after the music, which everyone agreed was a great treat, as it was 90 some degrees that day.
St. John’s hosted Bingo on Wednesday. Thanks to Sylvia and Ava for helping out.
Thursday was a busy day with exercises in the morning, and in the afternoon we ventured outside and planted two raised beds with flowers, some tomatoes in buckets, and beans, peas, carrots, beets and cucumbers in our regular garden. Things are starting to look good, in spite of the extreme heat.
We enjoyed popcorn on Friday, and went for our first trip to the new Family Dollar store. Residents found some good deals, and sounded like they will want to go again soon. Thanks for the volunteers who helped push people around the store and to load and unload the bus-Becky, Amy, Ava, Char and Dennis. During the summer months especially, we take some bus trips to shop, fish, or just sight see. If anyone is interested in helping, give us a call.
