COLFAX — In their only game of the week, the Colfax Black Sox fell behind early and came up short with an 11-5 loss to Pepin/Alma at home June 24. (A game scheduled with Boyceville was canceled since Boyceville did not have enough players).
Colfax found themselves down 5-0 against Pepin/Alma heading into the bottom of the fourth inning but came back to knot the score with Jarrod Rudi, Zach Meyer, Jacob Steinke, Trevor Olson and Brandon Anderson all crossing the plate. But P/A took advantage of a couple of hits, two Black Sox errors, two walks and three wild pitches to take a 10-5 lead in the fifth inning and added a single run in the sixth to increase their lead. Colfax left a runner on base in the sixth and two on in the seventh as they failed to come up with any timely hits to add to their run total.
The Black Sox will host Mondovi in a double header Tuesday, July 1 starting at 6:15 then will play at Durand July 11.
