Toppers and Bulldogs set numerous personal records at Conference track

HAMMOND — There were several personal records set for both the Hilltoppers and the Bulldogs last Tuesday, May 14 in the 90 degree weather at the Dunn-St. Croix Conference track and field meet at the St. Croix Central High School.

Seniors Chris Wagner and Adam Holmquist shined in their field events with Wagner earning another first place finish in the discus throw as well as a first place and a personal best in the shot put. Holmquist reigned in the pole vault with a soaring jump of 12’ 6”, which is an improvement from his previous record of 11’ 6”.

Also finishing towards the top for the Toppers in second place with yet another personal best was the 4×800 relay team consisting of Morgan Kadinger, Kaitlin Konder, Jennifer Kopacz and Jenny Lindquist.

Placing at the top for the Bulldog was senior Zach Klassen who excelled in the 300 m hurdles with a first place finish after a time of 44.33.

Earning a second place spot for the team was Logan McAbee-Thomas in the triple jump with a personal record of 43’ 1.25”. This is a new record for the Boyceville school district as well. A new conference record was set by Spring Valley’s Zac Webster with a jump of 48’ 4”.
