Benefit for Amy Kahler to be held at GC Fire Station on August 23

GLENWOOD CITY – A benefit is being held for Amy (Caress) Kahler on Saturday, August 23 at the Glenwood City Fire Station with events starting at 9:00 a.m. that morning. Amy, mother of two, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, which led to rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and a double mastectomy.

Dunn County Sheriff wins August 12 primary at 56 percent

By LeAnn R. Ralph MENOMONIE  —  Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith won the August 12 Democratic primary for sheriff against challenger Chris Kruse with 56 percent of the vote. All together, the unofficial vote totals show that Sheriff Smith received 2,428 votes to 1,886 for Kruse.

Safe Route To School Grant awarded to Glenwood City
