ORLANDO, FL — After a lot of fund raising efforts this past year, several members of the Bloomer-Colfax wrestling team earned their way to compete against some tough competition in Orlando, FL Dec. 20-23.

COLFAX — In their only game of the week, the Colfax boy’s basketball team made the most of it as they used a 16-0 lead to finish with a 67-34 win in a conference match up with Glenwood City Dec. 20 in their home gym.

BLOOMER — Only four wrestlers from Bloomer-Colfax posted wins in the home match against the Ladysmith Lumberjacks Dec. 18. After falling behind 42-0, B-C won four straight matches to get the score closer at 42-24, but they dropped the final three resulting in the 60-24 loss.

With two players scoring 82% of the team’s points, the Colfax boys had a rough go when they traveled to Elmwood Dec. 11 for a conference match up against the Raiders. Elmwood, one of the teams picked to finish near the top of the conference, had three players score in double figures as they defeated…

Playing in the comforts of their own home twice last week, it was business as usual for the Lady Vikings as they won a pair of games by a combined score of 137-40, starting with a score 74-25 over the Flambeau Falcons Dec. 11, then followed up by routing the Elmwood Raiders 63-15 just two…

CAMERON — The Bloomer-Colfax wrestling team faced off against three different opponents in Cameron Dec. 11 and defeated Northwestern 45-30 but lost to Cameron 60-24 and to Unity 54-24.

EAU CLAIRE — Wrestling against teams in all three state divisions at the Eau Claire North Husky Invite Dec. 8, the Bloomer-Colfax wrestling team placed 19th out of 24 teams.

After a weeklong break, the Lady Vikings returned to the gym floor, traveling to Spring Valley and smothering the Cardinals 57-22 Dec. 4, then stayed home to face their old nemesis, the Boyceville Bulldogs and battled for a 47-35 win Dec. 7.

It was game of streaks for both teams but in the end it was a final run by the Regis Ramblers that allowed them to defeat the Colfax boys 44-41, giving the Vikings their first loss of the season in Eau Claire in a Saturday matinee Dec. 8.
