CAMERON — The Bloomer-Colfax wrestling team faced off against three different opponents in Cameron Dec. 11 and defeated Northwestern 45-30 but lost to Cameron 60-24 and to Unity 54-24.
At the 106 pound weight class, there was a double forfeit against Northwestern then Justin Wachtendonk of B-C won by pins over Unity and Cameron.Tucker Hovde pinned his NW opponent then won by a forfeit and lost via a pin at 113. Brady Simonson won two matches by forfeit at 120 and when he had the chance to wrestle, won via a pin over his Cameron opponent, and David Blanchard won a match by forfeit and lost two by pins at 126.
At 132, Ben Putney lost by pins against NW and Cameron and Preston Klukas didn’t fare much better as he lost by a pin against the Unity wrestler at the same weight. B-C had no wrestler at 138 but Trevor Newton won two of three matches by pins at 145 as did Dan Thorgerson at the 152 pound class. Jon Thorgerson won by a pin over NW then lost two matches as he was pinned himself at 160 and Matt Shaw won by pinning his NW opponent but was pinned in his other two matches at 170.
Jake Floodquist lost two matches via pins and won by a forfeit at 182, Kyle Wenzel was pinned by all three opponents at 195, Stephan Snyder won by a forfeit and lost two by pins at 220 while Ryan Ratcliff had a rough go as he lost all three matches by being pinned at 285.
