CITY TO PURCHASE OLD SCHOOL—(View of school building form east Oak Street) the city council has approved purchasing the old school building and raising it to make room for new building lots. The building has been vacant for more than 27 years and has had several owners over that time. The gym that was constructed in 1937 is the building in the center of the photo, and in the lower part were two class rooms, one was for Home Economics and the other was for the Agriculture Department. The building to the left was constructed in 1954 and housed six classrooms, two shower rooms, a lunchroom and kitchen, plus school offices. The portion at the right housed the Agriculture and Industrial Arts Department in the lower level and music room and two classrooms in the upper floor. That part was constructed in 1958.
