April 7-April 13
Rudy Rudesill was here to entertain the residents on Saturday afternoon. Everyone really enjoys his singing.
The baking club made Etta Wiseman’s fabulous recipe for coffee cake on Monday. It is made in a bundt pan, and has pecans layered in it, and is delicious!
A couple of pasties from the Downing church appeared by the office door. It’s the first time I have tasted them, but they were very good. Thanks to the pastie fairies for the treat.
We changed the schedule up a bit on Tuesday, so Live to be Healthy was at its’ usual time, with this week some testing going on of the residents’ balance and strength. The Student Council came in the afternoon, and that was followed by Holy Cross Church. C, T, and the Heuts finished off the day after supper. They were very entertaining, as usual. There were a lot of April birthdays to celebrate, and the sing-a-longs were a big hit. It was a busy day, but a lot of fun. Thanks to all!
Holy Cross was back on Wednesday for Bingo. Thanks to Bill, Louise, Mary Ann and Sue for your help!
We tried some spring crafting on Thursday, although we are all wondering if spring is ever going to get here, or if we should keep on making snowflakes! We took a tip from the Science Guy on channel 2 and tried doing some flowers. They don’t look quite like the Science Guy’s, but are pretty none the less. The residents did a great job on them. We will let them dry and finish our creations.
Father John was here for Mass on Friday morning, and it was popcorn day also. In the afternoon we played a game of Mexican Train. Bev Thompson was our big winner. She was the first to make it to Tijuana.
