The Boyceville FCCLA was well represented at the State Leadership Conference which was held at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells, April 9th-11th. All nine students who attended the conference also competed in a STAR Event. STAR Events stands for Students Taking Action with Recognition. These students competed at the regional level, in February, and received scores which qualified them to compete at the state level.
Below you will find a breakdown of the students who competed at the State Leadership Conference, the event they competed in, and their results:
Marissa Dormanen received gold in the Culinary Creations category. Marissa decorated a cake with the theme of farm animals.
Maggie Wyss received gold and Taylor Grambow received silver for the caramel cranberry scones they made in the Pastries and Baked Goods category.
Jaida Peterson, Amber Retzloff and Jensine Boesl received gold for their project in Focus on Children. These young ladies presented information about helping children make healthy eating choices along with the importance of being physically active.
Tyra Kostman, Emma Bygd and Mya Lagerstrom received silver for their project in Illustrated Talk. They shared information on the importance of proper hygiene.
