Glenhaven-Havenwood Happenings – 3-21-2018

Glenhaven News March 10-16

Over the weekend, we had Rudy Rudesill entertaining on Saturday, and Catholic communion on Sunday.

Residents did a great job of spelling at our Spelling Bee. Our topics for the month were Monopoly tokens, and lunch items. There were a couple of lunch items they didn’t recognize, namely biscotti and pita bread. We are going to acquaint them with those items very soon.

Tuesday was a busy day, with church with Holy Cross, Live to be Healthy, Student Council visits, and  T,C and the Heuts returned for the summer that night. They will be here the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 from now until fall. They were great as usual, and we had a large crowd. Thanks to everyone for a very entertaining day.

Holy Cross also hosted Bingo on Wednesday afternoon, so they were very busy at Glenhaven this week.

Our baking group was busy, this week on Thursday, making treats for our St. Patrick’s Day party on Friday. The brownies were delicious!

Carol Schmidt and her four dogs, papillions, were here to entertain on Friday morning. She attempted to put little green hats on them, but that didn’t go so well. But they are really cute little dogs, and very well trained. She will be back soon with some new puppies that are due most anytime now. Thanks Carol and crew.

For their party in the afternoon, the residents enjoyed a game of “Luck”, as well as guessing how many coins were in the jar. Our lucky winners of the Luck game received a dollar each, and the winner of the coin guessing won a fabulous pair of green flashing glasses! The games were followed by reuben dip on rye bread and mint brownies, as well as green beer and green lemonade.
