Hayley Bird selected as Rotary Club of Menomonie Youth Volunteer Service Award winner

Boyceville High School senior class member, Hayley Bird, was selected as the Menomonie Rotary Club Youth Volunteer Service Award winner.

Hayley is the daughter of Wendy and Kevin Bird of Menomonie. Hayley was recognized by the Rotary Club for her extensive volunteer service and commitment to her community. Ms. Karlene Berry, School Counselor at Boyceville High School, introduced Hayley to the Rotary Club during an awards banquet held in November. 

Hayley’s tremendous focus on community and service has been evident throughout her high school career. Hayley manages to balance leadership roles, academics and numerous volunteer opportunities. Hayley has held leadership roles as Class President for four years, Student Council member for three years and was elected this year as the Student Council President. When it comes to the Arts and Music Hayley has been an integral part of seven Drama productions, multiple District Solo and Ensemble award winner for Choir and is a Drum Majorette in the Marching Band. Her academic pursuits include Science Olympiad competitions and Quiz Bowl tournaments. The depth and range of her activities at school is impressive and so is her commitment to community. Hayley is a Special Olympics volunteer and coach for a Bowling Team, she assists with Vacation Bible School at church and has gone on Service Mission Trips to Detroit, Michigan and has an upcoming event in Houston, Texas. Hayley is a true example of positivity, service and is a true asset to our school and community. 

This fall Hayley plans to attend University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She will be pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and continue on to earn her Doctorate in Audiology.
