Boyceville High School Class of 2014 Salutatorian Bryor Nicholas Hellmann

BOYCEVILLE- Boyceville High School senior Bryor Hellmann has been named the Class of 2014 Salutatorian.

Bryor is the eldest child of Angela and Nick Hellmann, he has one younger sibling, Brooklyn.

Bryor has been a very active student in the school district throughout his four years in high school between sports and clubs.

He wrestled, played football and was on the track and field team from the time he was a freshman through his current senior year.

Bryor competed at the state tournament for wrestling this past February and won a silver medal, which was one of his most memorable high school moments.

“My favorite memory from high school was seeing all of the community support when I wrestled in Madison for my last time,” shared Bryor. “It meant a lot to me to have all my friends and family cheering me on, maybe thats why I did so good?”

Aside from sports, Bryor spent four years in Science Olympiad and FFA. He was on Student Council for three years, which included being President his senior year. He was also participated in the Quiz Bowl for three years as well.

In his junior and senior years, Bryor was active in the National Honor Society and the Academic Decathlon.

Bryor was also chosen by his peers to be on the Prom and Homecoming courts, which has been a another favorite high school memory of his.

“I remember my senior homecoming court doughnut eating contest, where I won, but almost choked. It was fun but kind of scary,” said Hellmann.

“I also remember all of the great basketball games where we cheered the teams on no matter the score. But the one thing I will miss next year are all of my friends, Tanner, James, Sawyer, Ian, Nick, Logan, Emma, April and Hunter. Oh year and I guess I will miss my cousin Kennedy too,” shared Bryor.

With a memory full of great times, Bryor will now graduate high school and move forward to the next phase of his life; college.

Bryor shared that he plans to attend the University of Minnesota-Duluth to earn a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education. After earning his degree, he then plans on teaching and coaching.
