MENOMONIE — The Boyceville track teams competed at the Dunn County Indoor meet on April 8 against Menomonie, McDonell Central and Elmwood-Plum City. The girls team placed second with 38.33 points and the boys took third with 32.17.
Coming in first for the girls was Sydney Larson in the triple jump with a leap of 30 feet 11 inches. The girls team earned three second place ribbons including Blake Jeske in the half mile run with a time of 2:38 and Halle Tonn in pole vault with a jump of nine feet. Their 4×400 meter relay team also placed second with teammates Sydney Larson, Elliana Kietzer, Ashlyn Maska and Lucy Wheeldon running the race in 4:42.
Chelsi Holden ran a 1:06 in the 400 meter dash which was good for third place. Also placing third was Blake Jeske in the mile run with a time of 6:05 and Brylee Stevens in pole vault with a jump of seven feet six inches.
Ashlyn Maska placed fourth in the mile run with a time of 6:07 and Sydney Larson picked up a fourth place finish as well in the long jump with a leap of 14 feet six inches. Kylee Schlough landed a fifth place in long jump as did Halle Tonn in the 400 meter dash and Maddie Nelson in the 50 meter hurdles.
Sydney Larson scored some more points for the team by placing sixth in the 400 meter dash. Elliana Kietzer, Layla Score and Lydia Day all brought in seventh place in the half mile run, triple jump and pole vault respectively. Rounding out the scoring members of the team was Lucy Wheeldon who placed eighth in both the high jump and shot put events.
Menomonie won the girls competition with 65 points. Boyceville scored 38.33 points, McDonell Central scored 36.33 and Elmwood-Plum City scored 32.33.
The boys team dominated the 400 meter dash event taking the top four places. Coming in first was Jon Madison with a time of 56.64, second was Devon Lee at 57.34, third was Jacoby Kurschner at 57.64 and fourth was Jon Frett at 58.74.
Along with Isaiah Romero and Gavin Rydel, Jon Madison and Devon Lee were on the 4×400 meter relay team which earned a second place finish with a time of 4:01. Gavin Rydel also took home a second place ribbon in triple jump with a leap of 39 feet 2.5 inches, while Owen Rydel placed third in the event at 39 feet 2.25 inches.
Liam Moore placed third in pole vault with a jump of nine feet six inches and Isaiah Romero earned fourth place in shot put with a throw of 35 feet 8.5 inches. Coming in fifth was Forest Bettendorf in the mile run with a time of 5:39.
Other members of the team that scored points were: Isaiah Romero in high jump and Gavin Rydel and Owen Rydel in long jump.
The Menomonie team won the meet with a score of 85.67 points. McDonell Central came in second with 41 points, Boyceville was third with 32.17 and Elmwood-Plum City was fourth with 13.17 points.
