DELANEY OLSON
Boyceville High School senior class member, Delaney Olson, was selected as the Menomonie Rotary Club Youth Volunteer Service Award winner. Delaney is the daughter of Rochelle and Jamie Olson of Boyceville. Delaney was recognized by the Rotary Club for her extensive volunteer service and commitment to her community. Ms. Karlene Berry, School Counselor at Boyceville High School, introduced Delaney and her parents to the Rotary Club during an awards banquet held in early November.
Delaney’s tremendous focus on community and service has been evident throughout her high school career. Delaney has given her time to Stepping Stones and the United Way for Sleep in Heavenly Peace projects to build beds for local families in need. Through school activities she has attended Feed My Starving Children meal packing events, helped set up for the Dunn County Humane Society spring rummage sale, and recently spent a day of volunteerism at Wolske Bay in Menomonie assembling light displays and decorations for the holiday season. In addition to volunteering locally, Delaney has also taken trips with her church group to provide services for people in need in Colorado and attended a Youth Gathering focusing on service in New Orleans. Delaney’s personal strength of character allows her to be a supportive team member, volunteer and leader in any situation.
Delaney is involved in numerous activities at Boyceville High School. She excels with the Science Olympiad team earning over 70 medals in the past four years and 10 medals at the State Competition level. Delaney is an active member of National Honor Society, Student Council, Yearbook and Spanish Club. She plays both Volleyball and Softball at Boyceville and has earned All-Conference Honors for both sports. In the winter sports season she supports the Wrestling Team as their Manager. Her academic focus at school has also been outstanding. Delaney has earned a 4.0 grade point average throughout her high school career all while balancing her extensive school and community involvement. She is on track to be the Class of 2025 Valedictorian in May. Delaney has been a dedicated student and a true asset to Boyceville High School.
