BHS senior Mrdutt selected as Menomonie Optimist Club Youth of the Month

PAIGE MRDUTT
The Menomonie Optimist Club provides Boyceville High School with the opportunity to recognize the achievements and efforts of an outstanding senior student. The selected student is then recognized as the Youth of the Month.
Paige Mrdutt was selected to represent Boyceville High School as Youth of the Month for April. Paige is the daughter of Tom Mrdutt and Amy Frieburg, both of Boyceville.
The program statement from the Menomonie Optimist Club describes the qualities and attributes that made Paige a great choice.
“The purpose of the Optimist Club is to develop optimism as a philosophy of life: to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs, to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of man, his community, and the world.”
To recognize her accomplishments there was an Awards Banquet held in Menomonie on April 17th. Boyceville High School Teacher Ben Simmerman, Para-Professional, Laura Harnisch and Paige’s father, Tom attended the Awards Banquet. Mr. Simmerman had the opportunity to introduce Paige and talk about her achievements, both in school and our community. Paige has been a valuable leader, supportive team member and a positive role model for her peers. She has earned academic Honors for the Class of 2024 and is an active member of BHS National Honor Society. Paige has been an integral part of the numerous Drama Club performances holding the title of Stage Crew and Stage Manager over her high school career. Her interest in Music also created opportunities for her to become a part of the District Honors Choir and Solo Ensemble competitions. Paige has been a Wrestling Cheerleader and Captain as well as a leader within Student Council.
After graduation Paige plans on attending Montana State Gallatin College for Culinary Arts. Her academic focus, service to her community and commitment to leadership has made Paige a wonderful choice for the Optimist Award. Congratulations to Paige on being selected as an outstanding senior!
