The topic is “Grandpa’s Probate Solves the Case of the Disappearing Daughters” presented by Lois Abromitis Mackin, PhD. Five daughters of James M. Galt progressively disappeared from the family home. Two reappeared on a memorial stone. Did they marry, die, or both? This case study shows how researching collateral relatives — in this case, the girls’ maternal grandfather — can help solve genealogical problems.
