Aug. 21-27
The news is going to be short and sweet this week. This writer took a week of vacation, so am going on notes from staff. The hubby and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, so I really needed some time at home to get ready. I had volunteers come in to do some activities, which I am very thankful for, and I’m sure the residents are also.
Becky Nyhus came in on Monday afternoon and did a cook-along with the residents. Her mom, Bev, loves to cook, so they had a chance to spend some time in the kitchen together, and had Cherrie and Betty for helpers. They made cookies, which they enjoyed for snacks, and put some away for Bingo on Wednesday.
Pastor Strupt from Boyceville Methodist Church was here for services on Tuesday morning. Irene Schmidt was here to accompany her on the keyboard.
Beauty shop was held as usual on Wednesday, and in the afternoon Carol Myers and Connie Warner, both former employees, came and volunteered to do Bingo.
There was music planned for Friday, but unfortunately they have to perform outside at this point, and since it was raining that day, it had to be cancelled.
We’ll get back in the swing of things this week, hopefully! To all who came and helped out last week. You are much appreciated!
Our sympathies go out to the families of Shirley Stone and Ruth Huber. May they rest in peace.
Visitors this week were: Shirley Stone was visited by Jerry and Betty Jean Smith, Willard Tronrud was visited by Marie and Debi R., and Betty Steies was visited by Pam & Dennis Steies. Just a reminder to visitors to use our visitor book by the elevator doors upstairs.
Clarence Fleming celebrated his birthday on the 22nd.
