BOYCEVILLE – It was a beautiful day on Thursday, May 13th as the Bulldogs and Hilltoppers competed against the Mounders of Elk Mound and the Vikings of Colfax in another conference meet.
It was the Toppers and Mounders who came out on top as the Lady Hilltoppers came in first with a team score of 87 followed by the Mounders with 75 points. The Bulldogs were next with 42 and the Vikings brought up the rear with 39 points. For the gentlemen, it was the Mounders on top with a score of 108 followed by the Hilltoppers with 82. The Vikings had 61 and the Bulldogs 13.
Both the Hilltoppers and the Bulldogs will be heading to Colfax on Thursday, May 20th for another quad meet where they will also compete against Elmwood/Plum City.

The Lady Toppers continued their success on the track as well as on the field. All four of the relay teams took first place and individual firsts went to Marie Garcia in the 100m with a time of 13.7; Bella Rassbach in the 400m in 1:09.72, and Lexi Wannemacher in the 300m hurdles in 48.63. The 4×100 team of Maddie Booth, Brenna Schwartz, Bella Rassbach, and Marie Garcia won in a time of 53.55. The 4×200 team of Booth, Schwartz, Garcia, and Samantha Peterson won with a time of 1:55.42. The 4x400m team consisted of Rassbach, Wannemacher, Isabella Simmons, and Kinzie Strong and won in a time of 4:30.84. Finally the 4×800 team of Simmons, Strong, Natasha DeSmith, and Gabby Moede put up a time of 11:45.95 for first.
In the field, it was Yasmin Mendez dominating the shot put with a throw of 33 feet 4.25 inches for first and Rassbach jumping her way to the top spot with a distance of 15 feet 8 inches in the long jump.
For the boys, Austin Nelson continued to rack up wins in the 400m. He won with a time of 53.03. JJ Williams, in his first meet of the season, captured first place in the 1600m with a time of 4:58.2. The boys 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams both recorded wins with times of 3:48.65 and 9:23.28, respectively. The 4×400 team consists of Will Eggert, Brady Klatt, Wyatt Thompson, and Austin Nelson. The 4×800 team is made up of Nelson, Williams, Elek Anderson, and John Hager.
In the field, it was Brady Klatt who threw the farthest in the discus with a distance of 121 feet 6 inches. Malachi Keller jumped the highest with a jump of 5 feet 7 inches in the high jump while Nick Hierlmeier vaulted 9 feet 3 inches to win the pole vault. Eggert found success at the triple jump with a distance of 37 feet 0.75 inches.
Bulldogs

Despite their small team size, the Bulldogs have had some individual success at the track.
Freshman Peter Wheeldon won the 300m hurdles in a time of 49.39. He also took second in the high jump.
Haylee Rasmussen won the girls’ high jump with a height of 4 feet 2 inches. She also came in third in the 300m hurdles. Abbigail Schlough won the pole vault with a vault of 7 feet. She also took second in the triple jump and third in the long jump.
Shiloh Wheeldon captured first in the 100m hurdles in a time of :20.8. The girls’ Bulldog 4x400m relay team of Juieanna Banyai, Haylee Rasmussen, Jaden Stevens, and Shiloh Wheeldon came in second.
