Marilyn celebrated her birthday on Saturday with family.
Sunday was Dandelion Day. As I was going home today, I noticed the hill by the old school is covered with them.
Dennis is now able to bring communion on Sunday mornings again, so he made his rounds.
Church was put on Youtube for many residents on Tuesday. We also had care conferences that day, and Carol went to Havenwood to do a craft project. They made rag wreaths with spring and patriotic themes.
Tuesday was also National Scrabble Day. We tried Upwords at Glenhaven, as the letters are a little easier to see, and you don’t have to worry about reading the boxes on the board for triple word, etc. Kathy did very well with it. She is also a puzzle whiz. We will miss her when she leaves, but I’m sure she will love getting back to her family.
Wednesday was a busy day with beauty shop and Bingo in household E, followed by social time with coffee and cookies. Anna was the lucky one this time.
Many residents have been getting visitors or doing face time and zoom meetings with the Ipads. It certainly makes everyone happier to be connected with their families.
We also had orientation for a new staff member on Wednesday.
Thursday was exercises in the morning, and in the afternoon, Bingo in C&D households. Ruth Huber must have had a horseshoe in her pocket, as she got a lot of Bingos! We’re hoping to be able to get together as a group for that at some point. Everyone enjoyed snacks after Bingo.
We thank the Steies family for their generous donation to the Bingo fund. It will be a big help with Nursing Home Week coming up. We are going to do a little bigger stakes for Bingo that week, just to make it special.
Friday was Popcorn Day, as always. We also have Puff Corn to give to those who can’t handle the real deal. Many are enjoying that also.
In the afternoon we had bowling out in the lobby area. They love to bowl. Many of our residents belonged to a bowling league somewhere along the line. Still working on bowling names for our households. Our high scorers for the day were Martha from C household with a 79, and a tie in household D by Donna and Ruth, who both had a 55. We had to shorten their game a little as it was getting late in the day. Good job everybody!
