Glenhaven and Adoray Home Health & Hospice partner to bring compassionate end-of-life care to Glenwood City

Glenwood City, WI – Glenhaven, in partnership with Adoray Home Health & Hospice, is proud to announce the creation of a designated Hospice Suite, ensuring that community members in need of a serene, supportive environment for end-of-life care can remain close to home. This new space will provide individuals and their families a peaceful setting to navigate the final stages of life with dignity and comfort.

For more than 50 years, Glenhaven has been a leading provider of kind, caring, and quality health care for people in Glenwood City and surrounding communities. This partnership with Adoray Home Health & Hospice reflects Glenhaven’s continued commitment to offering exceptional care and support to those in need.

Adoray Home Health & Hospice, a nonprofit, community-based agency serving five counties in Western Wisconsin for 30 years, is sponsoring the suite to create a warm, comforting space that embraces both the patient and their loved ones. The Hospice Suite will feature two connecting rooms—one designed for the hospice patient and another for family and friends, including a pullout bed for overnight stays. The family room will also include a private bathroom with a shower, ensuring comfort and convenience for those staying with their loved one. Families will have the peace of mind knowing their loved one is just a door away. Additionally, the suite will include a mini fridge, allowing families to store food and beverages for added convenience. A conveniently located laundry room will also be available for those staying multiple days.

“This partnership with Glenhaven represents a deep commitment to our community,” said Christa Walz, Executive Director of Adoray Home Health & Hospice. “Having grown up in Glenwood City, I know firsthand how much this will mean to families in our area. For 30 years, Adoray has been honored to serve this community, and this Hospice Suite is a meaningful way to ensure that those in their final days receive the comfort, dignity, and compassionate care they deserve. More importantly, it provides a place where families can come together, support one another, and share precious moments during this deeply personal journey.”

Hospice suites play a vital role in providing specialized, patient-centered care in rural communities, where access to dedicated end-of-life services can often be limited. By offering this level of support locally, Glenhaven and Adoray are ensuring that individuals do not have to leave their lifelong community to receive the compassionate care they need. This suite will allow families to be together while also providing space for privacy during a vulnerable time.

Kevin Larson, Administrator of Glenhaven, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “We are honored to bring this new Hospice Suite to Glenwood City. Our goal has always been to provide comprehensive, compassionate care for our residents, and this suite is a testament to our commitment to meeting their needs through every stage of life. We want families to know that at Glenhaven, they are truly at home.”

To celebrate this milestone, we invite the community to join us for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the new Hospice Suite on Friday, April 25th from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., with the ribbon-cutting at 2:30 p.m. This event will offer an opportunity to see firsthand how this dedicated space will support families in our community for years to come. Refreshments will be provided and generously sponsored by Thrivent Glen Hills Group. Tours of the Glenhaven Community will also be available.
