Fatal crash on I-94, car vs motorcycle

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 2:48 p.m. the Wisconsin State Patrol along with the Hudson Police Department respond to a car vs motorcycle crash with injuries on I-94 at milepost 1 westbound in St. Croix County. Preliminary investigation indicates the car was in the right lane and attempted to overtake traffic by using the right shoulder when it struck a guardrail causing it to veer back into the right lane where it collided with a motorcycle. Both the car and motorcycle traveled across the roadway and impacted the median concrete barrier. 

The motorcycle operator, David Malcom Burley, 58 Year Old Male From Minnetonka, MN was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

The driver of the car, Andre Lamont Mathews, 33 Year Old Male From Brooklyn Park, MN was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threating injuries. Alcohol use was indicated by the driver of the car. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
