Elk Mound Lions Club announce poster winner

ELK MOUND — For over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. More than 600,000 entries are submitted worldwide in the annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest.
Elliot Munsinger, a 7th grade student at Elk Mound Middle School placed 3rd at the state level of the competition for the 2024-25 contest. His submission was judged based on its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of the contest theme, “Peace Without Limits”.
Winning the local contest of Elk Mound Middle School students, he advanced to the E2 district level competition with other local winners from St. Croix County, Pierce County, Dunn County, Trempealeau County, Buffalo County, Eau Claire County, Jackson County, and Pepin County. As the winner of the district competition, he was one of ten district winners who advanced to the state competition where he placed third. He was awarded a total of $300 for his placement at the local, district, and state levels.
Annually one grand prize winner and 23 merit award winners are selected. The 2024-25 winners came from areas across the globe including Croatia, Romania, Korea, Singapore, Ecuador, Indonesia, China, Germany, South Africa, Palestine, Japan, Ghana, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Czech Republic and the United States.
The Elk Mound Lions will be sponsoring the local level of the Lions International Peace Poster Contest again in 2025-26. The contest is open to Elk Mound Middle School students who will be 11, 12 or 13 years of age on November 15, 2025. This year’s theme is “Together As One”.
