EAU CLAIRE — Bail has been set with a $50,000 signature bond for a 29-year-old Elk Mound woman charged with four felony counts related to the second degree sexual assault of a group home resident.
Alicia J. Vogler made an initial appearance in Eau Claire County Circuit Court September 12 with her attorney, Matthew Krische, before Judge Emily Long.
Vogler is charged with four felony counts of second degree sexual assault which each carry the modifier of lifetime supervision of a serious sex offender.
Bail was set with a $50,000 signature bond September 12 under the conditions that Vogler have no contact with five individuals or with any residential home or facility serving the cognitively impaired, according to online court records.
In addition, the conditions include that Vogler maintain absolute sobriety and that she is not to consume or possess any alcohol or go into any taverns, bars, liquor stores or places were alcohol is primarily served or sold.
As a condition of bail, Vogler also is required to not have any contact with any facility owned by Palmer Group Home, any current or former employees or current or former patients of Palmer Group and to have no contact with anyone who is cognitively impaired.
According to news reports, the alleged incidents happened in June of this year in Fall Creek and Augusta while Vogler was an employee of Palmer Place group home.
The alleged victim reportedly was a resident of the group home placed there under guardianship.
When confronted about the sexual relationship, Vogler allegedly told her employer it had happened one time at the group home while she was “accidentally high” after using a CDB vape to treat pain, according to news reports.
Various online sources describe Palmer Place LLC as a licensed adult family home in Augusta.
Vogler is scheduled to appear in Eau Claire County Circuit Court October 22 for a preliminary hearing.
Following a preliminary hearing, a judge determines whether there is probable cause to bind the defendant over for trial.
The Eau Claire County prosecuting attorney had asked the judge to set a cash bail with conditions in addition to the signature bond, but the judge set bail with a signature bond and conditions.
Second degree sexual assault is a Class C felony that carries a possible penalty, upon conviction, of a fine of up 100,000 and/or 40 years in prison.
