Trash found safe and sound
Many local Colfax residents heard the sad news that Trash, a young Australian cattle dog, had run away from his home here in town. A door was accidentally left open, and he was nowhere to be found.
An immediate search was instituted as well as posters and numerous online postings set up. Two weeks went by and although he was spotted numerous times, the family had been unable to catch up or even get close to him.
Then one day when Renee and Matt Tuschl were driving up Highway M, on their way home, but not on their normal route, they spotted what they thought might have been a bear. But looking closer, they saw that it was a dog, and Renee
immediately thought of the lost dog, Trash. They turned around, spotted the dog again and called the owners. They waited until the owners came, and with the help of the dog’s mother on a leash, the family were able to lure Trash close enough to collar him.
And so this story has a very happy ending. A reward had been posted and on so Monday afternoon Renee, with a smiling face, received the reward and said, “ I’m just glad that the dog is safely home.”
