Menomonie Day of Dance hosted by General Hardware Border Morris

Morris Dancing is an English/Welsh folk dance tradition dating back to at least the 1500s. General Hardware Border Morris is one of two dance teams in Wisconsin practicing this ancient tradition, the other being in Madison, and, we are local!

Before COVID hit, General Hardware would host a yearly Day of Dance in Menomonie where we would invite other Morris teams from the Twin Cities to come dance around town. This year’s Day of Dance will be the first since 2019 and promises to be the largest we have yet hosted! Over seventy Morris Dancers have committed to come. The event will be held Saturdaym June 15th.

The planned itinerary is:

Farmer’s Market Wilson Park  9:45am – 10:30 a.m.; Library 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; Brewery Nonic catered lunch  11:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.; River Side Park (OR rain location to be announced) 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.; Clock Tower Plaza (OR got to Zymurgy early if raining) 3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.; Zymurgy 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
