Memorial Day activities in Colfax and Sand Creek

COLFAX — Members of the American Legion Russell-Toycen Post 131 of Colfax, will meet at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 27,  in the Colfax High School parking lot to travel to Sand Creek for that community’s Memorial Day ceremonies.

At 10:30 a.m., a parade will begin from Colfax High School to Evergreen Cemetery for an 11 a.m. program. 

A trailer will be available for Legion and Auxiliary members for the parade.

The speaker at the cemetery ceremony will be Lexi Aspen, the winner of this year’s essay contest with the theme of “What Memorial Day Means to Me” sponsored by Russell-Toycen Post 131. 

Also participating in the parade will be the bands from Colfax High School and Colfax Middle School as well as  any other interested organizations.
