At Glenwood City High School Sydney Grant and Savanna Millermon have been named co-valedictorians. William Stadaert was named salutatorian for the class of 2024.

SYDNEY GRANT
Grant
Sydney is the daughter of Lucas Grant and Nicole Simmon.
Her favorite classes in high school were: Medical Terminology- “It felt like a college class and it moved quickly.”
Pottery- “I could be creative and create ceramic that I can use later.”
Phy-ed- “It was nice to get physical activity and competitiveness out in the day.”
Sydney recounts her most memorable event in high school: “During homecoming of senior year the school had a fire alarm go off before school started. All of us high schoolers had to meet in the parking lot and the buses met us down there. While everyone else was calling friends or worried, a group of girls including myself connected music to a speaker and started dancing. Many people joined in.”
While at GCHS Sydney was involved in National Honor Society and Art Club for three years; Yearbook committee, Volleyball, Wrestling Manager and Softball for four years, and she was the president of her class her senior year.
As for her summer plans, Sydney remarks: “I am going to enjoy this summer doing all of my favorite things! I’m going to spend most of my time hanging out with my friends on the weekends. I can’t wait to start living my life!”
In the fall she will be attending UW-Plateville studying criminology and forensics.
Millermon

SAVANNA MILLERMON
Savanna is the daughter of Amanda and Shawn Millermon.
In high school Savanna’s favorite classes were AP calculus, History through film, and American Sign Language (ASL). “I love calculus, because of the challenges it gave me. ASL and History through film were fun classes where I learned a lot and had fun doing it!”
Savanna’s most memorable event from high school was when she was the first girl from GCHS to place at a state wrestling tournament. “It helped to create a path for all the future girls who come through.”
Besides wrestling all four years in high school, Savanna was also involved in DECA, Student Council, Cross Country and Track for four years. She was a member of the Spanish Club for three years and in the Spanish Honor Society and National Honor Society her junior and senior years.
This summer Savanna plans to work at KwikTrip before heading off to UW-Stevens Point in the fall. She will be studying Communication; Sciences and Disorders and will also be wrestling.
Standaert
Will is the son of Brent and Sally Standaert.
His favorite classes in high school were: AP Language, AP Calculus, AP Literature. “These classes prepared me for college.”
Will’s most memorable event in high school was the football game during homecoming senior year.
While at GCHS Will was involved in Football, Wrestling and Track and Field all four years, and National Honor Society his junior and senior years.
This summer Will will be working for the county highway department.

WILLIAM STANDAERT
In the fall he heads to UW-Madison where he will be studying Civil Engineering.
