Glenwood City MS student auditions for state honors

Lane Unruh

Glenwood City 8th grader Lane Unruh recently auditioned on French horn for the Wisconsin School Music Association Middle Level State Honors Project.

The WSMA Middle Level State Honors Music Project offers musically accomplished youth the opportunity to rehearse and perform with nationally-known conductors in a professional setting. All Honors groups perform at the Wisconsin State Music Conference. Middle Level State Honors students receive their music in August and meet for the first time the day before their fall performance. The rehearsal day and formal concert will take place in the Madison area.

Band director Mr. Lamb stated, “We have had a wonderful run of fine French horn players here at Glenwood City. Lane is no exception to that. We look forward to him being a great player in the high school band next fall. He has worked hard and grown as a musician.”

Lane is the son of Robert & Danielle Unruh. Lane would like to recognize his wonderful band lesson teacher Mrs. Root for all of her help. Audition results are released in late May.
