BOYCEVILLE — Ten teams competed at the Boyceville track and field invite held last Thursday. The Elk Mound boys team took home first place with 150.33 points and the girls placed fifth with 75. The Colfax girls scored 70 points putting them in sixth place while the boys placed eighth with 51.5 points.
Elk Mound Boys
Elk Mound junior Keinin Miller had first-place finishes in the 100 meter and 200 meter races with times of 11.28 seconds and 22.49 seconds. Fellow junior Landon KasaKaitas also earned a first place in shot put with a throw of 43 feet 3.25 inches.
Also coming in first were senior Grandt Mueller in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet and junior Brooks Burcaw in the pole vault with a jump of 9 feet six inches. Mueller also placed second in the long jump coming in at 19 feet and 11 inches and in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.62 seconds while Burcaw took home a sixth place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 48.37 seconds.
Another second place was won by senior Tyler Gagner in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 43.17 seconds. Coming in third were senior Jesse Moyer in the two mile run with a time of 11 minutes and 14 seconds, sophomore Rownan Soul-Stewart in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.99 seconds and KasaKaitas in discus with a throw of 119 feet and 3 inches.
Their 4×400 m relay team also placed third with a time of 3 minutes and 48.22 seconds. Members of the team were Caleb Beskow, Tyler Gagner, Riley Krall and Brooks Burcaw. The 4×200 and 4×800 m relay teams both placed fourth. In the 4×200, Graycen Banaszak, Samuel Hemenway, Grady Larson and Rownan Soul-Stewart had a time of 1 minute and 43.41 seconds. In the 4×800, Teegan Wright, Jesse Moyer, Hudson Banaszak and Dalton Banaszak ran the race in 9 minutes and 39.46 seconds.
Seniors Carson Streifel and Tyler Gagner placed fourth and fifth in the 100 meter dash with times of 11.65 seconds and 11.66 seconds. Other fifth-place finishers included sophomores Teegan Wright in the 400 meter run with a time of 57.31 seconds and Dalton Banaszak in the half mile run with a time of 2 minutes and 24.53 seconds.

Other team members that scored points included freshman Hudson Banaszak who placed sixth in the mile run with a time of 5 minutes and 26.79 seconds and senior Jay Meyer who also placed sixth in discus with a throw of 111 feet and 8 inches.
A few more points were scored by Samuel Hemenway, Londyn Jenson and Rownan Soul-Stewart who all placed eighth in high jump, pole vault and long jump, respectively.

Elk Mound Girls
In the girls’ competition, the Mounders had three runners that scored points in the 100 meter dash. They were senior Lydia Levra who came in third with a time of 13.32 seconds, sophomore Taylor Frinack who took fourth with a time of 13.49 seconds and freshman Lauren Gabert landed fifth place in 13.81 seconds.
Gabert was also part of a trio of point scorers in the long jump. She placed fifth in the event with a leap of 14 feet 4 inches. Fellow freshman Abby Wolf placed eighth with a jump of 13 feet 10 inches while senior Carly Mohr took third with a jump of 14 feet 9.5 inches.

Other jumpers who also scored points were Lydia Levra and sophomore Allie Robel who tied for fourth place in the high jump. Both of them cleared 4 feet 6 inches.
Allie Robel also placed second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.17 seconds and she was on the 4X400 relay team which also brought in second place. She ran the race with Taylor Frinack, Lydia Levra and Marley King in 4 minutes and 25.88 seconds.
Third place was earned by junior Savannah Nechanicky in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.52 seconds and by senior Carly Mohr in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.82 seconds. Senior Marley King took fourth in the mile run with a time of 6 minutes and 29.61 seconds.
The team’s 4×800 relay team took fifth with a time of 14 minutes and 10.02 seconds. Members of the team were Anne Baier, Isabelle Baier, Yolo Delgado and Addison Young. And a few more points were scored by Abby Wolf who took seventh in the 300 meter hurdles, and Taylor Frinack who took eighth in the pole vault.

Colfax Girls
This small team had two athletes that won first place in four events. Senior Jeanette Hydukovich threw the shot 36 feet and 1 inch, nearly two feet farther than the second-place finisher. She also took first in discus with a throw of 123 feet 10 inches, almost 20 feet farther than her nearest competitor.
Junior Kaysen Goodell also took home a pair of firsts. In the 800 m and the 1,600 m runs with times of 2:36.45 and 5:45.81.
Junior Hannah Peterson ran the 400 meter race in 1 minute 6.56 seconds which was good for third place. Other third-place finishers were senior Kennedy Shane in the shot put with a throw of 30 feet and 9 inches and Clara Hydukovich in discus with a toss of 99 feet. Kennedy placed fourth in discus at 92 feet.

The Vikings 4×400 relay team placed fifth with a time of 4 minutes and 42.72 seconds. Members of the team were Jada Anderson, Lauren Becker, Kaysen Goodell and Hannah Peterson. Lauren also earned some points in the pole vault with a leap of 6 feet 6 inches.

The team scored the most points in the 800 m run with junior Theo Hovde taking first place with a time of 2 minutes and 9.56 seconds and sophomore Charlie Charbonneau taking third with a time of 2:17.11 seconds.
Charlie also placed third in the mile run coming in at 5 minutes and 9.39 seconds while Theo placed sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.67 seconds. The pair also ran in the 4×400 meter relay along with Eli Ralph and Logan Swartz earning second place with a time of 3 minutes and 47.73 seconds.
Junior John Riebe earned a fifth place in discus with a throw of 111 feet and 8 inches while freshman James Wahl placed sixth in the shot put at 37 feet 1 inch. The 4×200 meter relay also placed sixth with a time of 1 minute and 51.99 seconds. Members of the team were Austin Johnson, Izaiah Sanders, Hayden Sarauer and Liem Schotter.
